Best of Baseball, 2009

9 year old pitcher

This is the best baseball picture I took in 2009; it’s not my favorite, but technically, I think it is the best.  It was the magic hour of photography, when the light is soft, and in the pitcher’s face.  The subject is in sharp focus, and the background blurred, so your eye is not distracted from the main point of interest.  The picture is bright, but there is still detail in the white of his shirt, and the expression on his face is priceless.   The player was really good, and visually reminded me of one of the kids in the movie, “Sandlot”.
