Every Fourth of July the small Nebraska town of Cedar Creek (pop. 310) has an Antique Car Parade. Sometimes as many as three parade entrants are actually antique cars. The other 50-60 entries are decorated golf carts, pickup trucks, and cars with flatbed trailers. (click here)
This year the three year-old, at left, gets to ride with the big kids in the back of the “float”. The big kids allowed her one water balloon to throw at spectators along the parade route. There is no better example of Americana than a small-town parade.
Geez, I love this country!
Thought for the Day:
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
